Drop Shock Survivability

I'm integrating a DT028BTFT 2.8" display into a handheld pendant and during drop testing it doesn't seem to hold up to cold temperature drop testing. Is there a design guide for drop testing(shock) design survivability for this display?
I'm currently abiding in the manual's design guide layout.

Hi,
The only drop test mentioned in the display datasheet is for packing drop testing.
As your probably already know, your mechanical design will need to ensure the display survives your testing. There is so much variablability between products, we do not have any guidenace for you.

Do you have any design guidance for mechanical mounting of the display? Are there any additional frames, cushions, etc that you suggest for best fixturing of the display?

Hi,
The only guidance is to use spongy foam DST when mounting, as to not put pressure on the display panel.
Do not us display assembly for mechanical strength (i.e. don't attach or hang anything from it).
What is DST?

Thanks for the question. No those are not mounting points.
The best thing to do is to put a plastic or metal bezel with sponge double sided tape, then use the PCB behind (yours) for the mounting. Lightly press the assembly against the plastic/metal bezel using the DST to fill the gap.
You don't want to have the display take any mechanical stress.
