Display quality - warm-up time?
Submitted by Trash80 on April 14, 2020
I have a few of the PTS and non-PST versions. All of them seem to have bad contrast consistancy across the display when first powered up. After about 10 minutes remaining powered up the display appears as normal (beautiful).
This is evident when a grey or black background- in room tempature conditions.
Is there a method/power-on procedure to circumvent this issue?

Fixed my own problem. Display driver library had the "Power Control 1 (C0h)" register set to 5v hardcoded by default.
Hi,
Yes, for TFT displays, if it is cold the crystals basically "warm-up". This is normal operation of TFT.
If you don't have a battery powered device, you could leave the TFT on, but turn the backlight off.
Thanks,
The issue was not normal- but It was solved by changing the register "Power Control 1 (C0h)" from 5v to 3.3v.
